Advocates for Youth envisions the youth to have a productive life free from early pregnancy, STD and HIV/AIDS by campaigning a national leadership that encourages healthy and responsible decisions among the youth.
Advocates for Youth (A4Y) strongly asserts that teen pregnancy is a universal concern. By it being a universal concern, it aims to bring about a connection among families and individuals. However, Filipinos in general aren't very comfortable with talking about teen pregnancy in spite of its dismaying prevalence. A4Y's objective is to coax these people to speak up regarding whatever concerns they may have on the issue, and this issue in particular should not be kept taboo.
A4Y has worked with society on three distinct levels: teen awareness, parental advisory, involvement of private corporations and policymakers to become aware of this growing concern as the youth's future is at stake.
Reaching out to the youth is the first among A4Y's many priorities. A4Y has conducted several parenting fora. Next would be inviting the parents to join the youth's commitment in order for them to forge a stronger bond with their children and continue guiding them during their adolescence and early adulthood. Parents are the staunch advisor of their children.
Cyndy Tan-Jarabata, founder of A4Y, strongly asserts that the private business sector should “PUT THEIR MONEY WHERE THEIR MOUTH IS" by giving back to the youth especially when they market to this age group. They should have a pressing social responsibility towards their market, and they should be able to profit with a cause.
